1936 Melbourne Mint KGV Threepence and Sixpence Pair – PCGS PR 64 & 67+Item code: HC-5
While no official mintage has ever been acknowledged by the Melbourne Mint, rumours have circulated amongst collectors for years of a few rare examples that had been struck and were now tucked away in old collections. An indication of their rarity is reflected with the current population of examples graded in proof condition by PCGS. At the current time (Nov, 2018) , these two example are the only to have been graded by the worlds leading grading and authentication company. A point worth considering with this particular date, which is renowned for the sharpness of detail in the business strikes, so much so many have been referred to and even sold as proof coins over the years. Of the pair the obvious highlight is the sixpence which is without doubt the most attractive silver proof coin we have handled.
