1935 Melbourne Mint KGV Half Penny & Penny Pair – PCGS PR 66BNItem code: HC-6
Copper proof coins struck by Melbourne Mint from the George V period are often seen in various states of impairment. This is often reflected in the sale prices seen in public auctions, a superior example will often sell for a hefty premium over a lesser coin. This matching pair from the Fenton collection are perhaps some of the finest examples surviving today, certainly by PCGS population standards they are. Bold striations viewed under a glass are only interrupted by the deep flashes on blue and purple hues. Perfectly struck and preserved, this pair are without doubt fleur de coin (flower of the die).
